Eligibility

The candidates who have passed in second division I.Sc. Or 10+2 (science) and certificate level of Forestry, ie. I.Sc forestry, I.Sc agriculture from Tribhuvan University or an institute recognized by this university shall be considered eligible to apply for admission to B.Sc in Horticulture and Floriculture Management. Students are selected based on their merit in the entrance examination.

Objectives of a B.Sc. in Horticulture and Floriculture Management:
  • Understanding Plant Science: Provide foundational knowledge about plant biology, soil science, and environmental factors affecting plant growth.
  • Horticultural Practices: Equip students with skills in the cultivation, production, and management of fruits, vegetables, ornamental plants, and flowers.
  • Floriculture Techniques: Develop expertise in flower farming, landscape gardening, floral design, and commercial flower production.
  • Pest and Disease Management: Teach methods to identify, prevent, and control pests, diseases, and weeds in horticultural crops.
  • Sustainable Practices: Emphasize eco-friendly and sustainable horticulture techniques, including organic farming and resource conservation.
  • Business Acumen: Introduce concepts of agribusiness, marketing, and entrepreneurship in horticulture and floriculture industries.
  • Technological Application: Promote the use of modern tools, greenhouse technology, and biotechnology in horticultural practices.
  • Research and Innovation: Encourage students to engage in research and innovation for improving crop yield, quality, and resistance to environmental stresses.
