Covering essential writing and production techniques across varying styles, instrumentation, and projects, the Music Production course empowers students to create professional-level compositions in a studio environment. Whether it's crafting pop tracks, EDM anthems, ambient instrumental music, or sophisticated productions for games, advertising, or Film and TV, this program provides the technical and creative foundation for a successful music production career.
The Bachelor degree is structured to support the development of strong, focused compositions that effectively translate creative ideas into polished productions. The curriculum includes in-depth instruction in principles of recording, music production for Film and TV, innovative applications of music technology, toplining techniques, and arranging for ensembles using both acoustic and electronic instrumentation.
A hallmark of the Music Production major is the personalized learning experience. Students receive weekly one-on-one private production lessons with experienced industry professionals. These lessons culminate in a large-scale capstone project during the final trimesters, which may encompass both recording and performance elements.
Students also gain expertise in digital songwriting, recording, distribution, and marketing strategies, with a strong emphasis on co-writing and collaboration. Mastery of industry-standard software—such as Avid Pro Tools, Logic Pro X, MaxMSP, Ableton Live, and Sibelius—is a core component of the program, ensuring graduates are technically proficient and ready to thrive in professional music environments.
Additionally, the Bachelor degree explores key aspects of music monetisation, copyright, and distribution. Upon graduation, students will have curated a comprehensive portfolio of original productions and compositions, demonstrating their talent, versatility, and readiness for a dynamic career in the music industry.

Bachelor of Music Production - Admission Requirements
Minimum Age to Apply:
Applicants must be a minimum of 17 years of age at the time of course commencement.
Academic Entry Requirements:
Successful completion of Year 12 in the Australian school system, OR;
An equivalent international qualification with a Senior Secondary Certificate pass in General English, OR;
A comparable qualification:
Certificate IV (or above) for Bachelor-level applicants
Certificate III (or above) for Diploma-level applicants
Language Requirements: Applicants must demonstrate English language proficiency through one of the following tests:
IELTS Academic: An overall score of 6.5, with no individual band score below 6.0
TOEFL iBT: A total score of 73, with a minimum writing score of 18
Pearson Test of English (PTE Academic): A score between 50-57
Cambridge English (C1 Advanced): An overall score of 169
