A Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) is an official document issued by an Australian education provider, confirming that you have accepted a place in a course and paid your tuition deposit. It’s a required document for applying for an Australian student visa.
Why is a CoE So Important?
- Confirms your enrolment in a registered course (CRICOS listed)
- Required for subclass 500 visa application
- Helps determine your visa duration and work rights
- Needed for Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) and travel planning
What Does a CoE Contain?
A typical CoE includes:
- Student name and ID
- Course name and code
- Institution name and CRICOS number
- Start and end dates of the course
- Total tuition fees and amount paid
- Campus location
- Payment status and method
- Unique CoE number (used in visa application)
How to Get a CoE?
To receive your CoE:
- Receive an Unconditional Offer Letter from the Australian institution
- Pay the required tuition fee deposit (usually the first semester)
- Submit any remaining documents (e.g., passport, signed acceptance form)
- The institution generates and emails you the CoE PDF document
- Keep both soft and hard copies ready for the visa application
