Delivered over two levels in a 20-week program, this course focuses on enhancing both practical communication and academic study skills through engaging, theme-based weekly lessons.
Students develop essential vocabulary and communication strategies to confidently participate in relevant, real-world conversations. The course structure incorporates all four macro skills—speaking, listening, reading, and writing—as well as daily grammar practice to establish a strong foundation for academic writing.
The program also includes a range of dynamic English sessions, interactive excursions, and educational incursions that promote cultural understanding and real-life language use.
Ozford not only provides academic support but is also committed to nurturing the well-being and personal development of every student. We foster a safe, inclusive, and empowering learning environment, ensuring students are well-prepared for the academic challenges of high school life in Australia.
Recognised as one of Melbourne’s preferred English language centres by both public and private schools, Ozford English Language Centre is dedicated to delivering quality education with care and professionalism.
The English for Secondary School Preparation (ESSP) program is designed to develop students’ English language proficiency across all four macro skills—listening, speaking, reading, and writing—with a strong emphasis on academic readiness and personal development.
Throughout the course, students engage in activities such as:
Listening and note-taking practice to enhance comprehension in classroom settings
Skimming and scanning techniques to improve reading speed and accuracy
Academic research skills, including sourcing and referencing information
Presentation techniques to build public speaking confidence and clarity
In addition to academic skill-building, students participate in health and well-being sessions tailored to support their emotional and social adjustment while living away from home. These sessions are designed to nurture self-confidence, resilience, and a positive mindset—key qualities for successful transition into the Australian high school environment.
This balanced, supportive approach ensures that students are well-prepared both academically and personally to thrive in their future studies.
